Our architectural studios in London and Luxembourg work internationally. The practice's experience includes major urban master plans, apartment and office buildings, private homes, luxury retail and hospitality, landscape and interiors.  Our approach is design-focused and emphasises material quality. Our studio culture encourages creative dialogue, critical focus and teamwork.

Andrew Phillips founded A P in 2013. He has over 25 years of experience as a studio leader, developing major projects in close collaboration with a range of complex public and private institutions, a significant number of which have gone on to be awarded national and international awards.

Born in 1969 in Dorset, he studied at Portsmouth School of Architecture and the University of Cincinnati before qualifying as an Architect at the Architectural Association in 1996. He trained with Jonathan Woolf and worked with David Chipperfield for 15 years, 9 of which as Design Director of the London office. Amongst others projects, he was responsible for the Museo Jumex in Mexico City, the MBA School at HEC Paris, the America’s Cup Building in Valencia and the Masterplan for the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Andrew has lectured across the United Kingdom, taught at the IE School in Madrid and was External Examiner at the Portsmouth School of Architecture from 2010-2016. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Navarra.

In 2021, A P was included within the Architecture Foundation's publication 'New Architects 4', recording notable emerging practices in the UK.
