We have broad international experience and a track record of award-winning projects. Our work includes urban planning, architecture, urban landscapes and interiors.

Our design is guided by prudence, clarity and social empathy. Our studio culture encourages creative dialogue and critical focus. We enjoy teamwork alongside our clients and specialist collaborators.

We have succeeded in several international design competitions. These include a Master Plan which will form part of a major expansion of Luxembourg City. The project comprises a dense new urban quarter of 1,000 homes, with generous landscaped public spaces and exemplary environmental performance. We are also developing urban projects in Camden, Hackney, Islington, Newham and Southwark. In 2014 we were shortlisted by the Royal Academy of Arts as one of four teams to ‘Re-imagine Mayfair’, with the results publicly presented and exhibited at the RA. Our work also includes gallery interiors, an artist’s studio, workplaces and private homes.

Andrew Phillips founded A P in 2013. He has over 25 years of experience as a studio leader, developing major projects in close collaboration with a range of complex public and private institutions, a significant number of which have gone on to be awarded national and international awards.

Born in 1969 in Dorset, he studied at Portsmouth School of Architecture and the University of Cincinnati before qualifying as an Architect at the Architectural Association in 1996. He trained with Jonathan Woolf and worked with David Chipperfield for 15 years, 9 of which as Design Director of the London office. Amongst others projects, he was responsible for the Museo Jumex in Mexico City, the MBA School at HEC Paris, the America’s Cup Building in Valencia and the Masterplan for the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Andrew has lectured across the United Kingdom, taught at the IE School in Madrid and was External Examiner at the Portsmouth School of Architecture from 2010-2016. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Navarra.
