21.02.2015 – Appointment to Framework for Project Light

Andrew Phillips, partnering with SOM, has been appointed to the new framework agreement for Canada Water. Notting Hill Housing Trust made the following announcement:

 

"The Canada Water project will build 1,030 homes, along with retail and commercial spaces.

Notting Hill Housing and Sellar Design + Development have put in place a consultant framework for a major mixed-use development at Canada Water, London, following an Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) tender process.

The architectural practices appointed to the ‘Project Light’ framework are:
- Hawkins Brown
- David Chipperfield Architects
- Conran and Partners
- Maccreanor Lavington
- Office for Metropolitan Architecture
- Ian Simpson Architects
- Robin Partington and Partners
- Andrew Phillips/Skidmore Owings & Merrill

Notting Hill Housing's Group Development Director, John Hughes, commented: “We are looking forward to working with our new framework partners to deliver world-class design at Canada Water.”

The project will deliver a total of 1,030 homes across a seven acre site, ranging from studios to four bed apartments, as part of a wide scale regeneration of the Canada Water area. The properties will include:
- 453 private sale homes
- 346 private rent homes
- 1
62 affordable rent homes
- 69 Shared Ownership homes

 The site will also include 150,000sqft of retail and commercial space, including a cinema, bars, restaurants, office space and a 100,000sqft Decathlon store. Alongside this, a community sports facility and health centre will complement new public areas featuring open spaces, landscaped gardens, walkways and cycle paths with a new waterside town square.”
